Most silent AC unit?

I have currently a Comfortmaker AC unit.Name: IMG_0395.jpg

The unit is probably about 15 years old and generally in good shape. However, I believe it needs some service. Air is not as cold anymore as it used to be.
I am sure it could be serviced.
However, since it is mounted beneath my deck I am considering to replace the AC unit to reduce noise.

My questions:
1.) what brand/product line is considered most silent?
2.) Can I upgrade just the outside AC unit (not replace the furnace and AC coil)?

I think consumer reports check for noise, you could start there.

Beyond the model though, putting a layer of noise isolating foam over the concrete base made a huge difference for me.

An A/C condensor under a deck is a less than ideal location for it. Many of the quieter/higher efficiency units are taller and need more clearance over them for airflow. That will need to be considered when purchasing a replacement.

On a 15 year old unit..... if you decided to replace rather than repair..... you'd want to change the condensor and the coil.

Be sure to get several quotes on new equipment.

I agree with Pete on the location under the deck as being less than ideal. I had mine replaced by a "hardtop" model of Trane, forget the number. But the blade is like a gossamer and turns very slowly but moves a bunch of air. It is barely noticeable unless you are near the unit.

Unfortunately, I am restricted with he location. It is a row townhouse where the deck spans the entire with of the unit. However, the deck is 7 ft above ground.

BTW. would a unit like this have advantages?
Performance Compact Central air conditioner – NH4A4 | Comfortmaker
Seems like it has a low SEER rating?
