Venting a wall AC unit into an adjoining garage

Although is is highly preferable to vent a wall air conditioning unit to the exterior of the home/room of installation, there are just some cases where that wall between the room needing the AC unit and the garage - is the only solution.

When this is the case, it is wise to open the garage door during use, and if there is a side or rear door to the garage - open it as well. Keeping the air in the garage circulating is the key.

I installed a 10k BTU unit in my den and vented it into the garage. Looks much better that the alternative of an unsightly AC unit popping out of the front of the house.

Three years now and it works fine.
