outside a/c unit fan not running
hi everyone,
My fan on my ourside unit of my a/c isn't running, but it is making noise like the compressor is running. I was able to spin the fan with a screwdriver but it didn't keep spinning. I replaced the compositor thinking that was the issue, it was not. it still isn't spinning. what should i check next? the contactor? fan motor? how do i check these?

Welcome to the forums.
Did you change the capacitor that the fan is connected to ?
If yes.... it sounds like you need a new motor.
If the compressor is running.... the contactor is ok.

I think so, it was the only one I behind the panel. I basically googled ac fan not running and watched some YouTube videos. And followed what they did. Is there usually more than one? I'll get outside and take a look.
