AC Window Unit (Dehumidifier mode)

I read the difference between air conditioning (produce cold air) mode vs dehumidifier mode (recycle warm air) in other threads already. I am curious after reading about the modes.

My window unit has both modes. Which one is more cost effective to use? The label on my window unit says it uses 6 amps, I am assuming that is in AC mode.

Thanks

Cost effective..... probably the A/C mode.

In the humidify mode.... the compressor either runs or it may be cycled but the fan is run in low speed. The colder coil condenses the water faster but doesn't cool the room as fast.

Hi pjmax, I started this thread after I read that thread a couple of days ago. That thread made me wondered about the modes. Thanks
