Need help understanding new A/C system
Can someone (anyone) explain to me the different models, what they mean and how best to pair the different options???
I am replacing a York Affinity 13 SEER, 3 Ton (YMB03611, AVY36C3XH21) with 15KW electric heat (Aux heat??) due to a leaky indoor coil (big surprise! - sarcasm).
The installer has offered the following TRANE options:
XL16i 16 SEER Heat Pump System
4TWX6036 (Outdoor??)
TAM7A0C36 (Air Handler??)
XL16i 16.25 SEER Heat Pump System
4TWX6036
TAM9A0C36
XL16i 16.50 SEER Heat Pump System
4TWX6036
TAM8A0C42
BAYCC24V
I currently use a NEST t-stat and is allowing me to keep it, but is offering the following options at additional cost:
NEXIA TCONT824 ($350)
Trane TCONT602 ($125)
My apologies, but all I know from this is the are all letters of the alphabet! Any clarity you can provide with what each model means, and how you recommend they be paired would be GREATLY appreciated.

seer is the efficiency of the unit. the higher the # the more efficient it is. Basically they are more or less the same systems. All about the same system except for a few things. What is your location? Do you have humidity issues? I ask because a 15 seer with a TEM AHU will save you lots of money

I'm not well versed in the niceties of HVAC, but had a Trane XL16i installed in our house. It is super quiet, cools and heats well, and I like the hard top because ice and sleet can't refreeze on your blades and sling into the coils. I like the dual coils, too.
