Is my ac making ice ?

I have a split ac. Whenever I turn on the ac in cooling mode it makes nut cracking sound for sometime (say 5 mins and then stops) and when it is turned off I can hear something dropping inside the indoor unit (a small object). Moreover while its cooling the room the temperature of water from outlet pipe is normal and water comes as droplet from the pipe but when i turn it off it starts leaking a lot of water(like a stream) from outlet pipe and this water is icy cold. I have cleaned the filters but still no luck.

Do see any ice at the indoor or outdoor unit.

No I cannot see any ice, but a few days back the indoor unit threw some ice on my table.

Sounds like a refrigerant leak, better call an AC tech to check it out.

low airflow can do this too, check your filters, blower wheel vents.

the sound may be a bad motor bearing and if the fan is moving too slow the coil can freeze.
