Unhappy Condensate dripping from BELOW main drip pan into secondary pan.

I was checking my AC unit because of a bad smell and noticed condensate dropping from the bottom of the main condensation pan, into the secondary pan. It is not filling up the main pan. There is no clog. I assume this is not normal. What could this be caused by?

A cracked or rusted primary drain pan, a dirty coil, ice, a partial primary drain restriction, or cold air leakage under the plenum would be some things to verify or disprove.

Do you mean from the bottom of the air handler ?
You would have to remove a side panel to see the internal drip pan.

It is not filling up the main pan
That would mean you did have the side panel off. At that point look for where the water is. The inside pan should be wet somewhere.

If it's not..... there may be a vacuum created when the unit is running and not letting it drip straight down into the primary pan.
