Air Con outside condenser unit drip tray
Hi, I have an outside AirCon condenser unit that has a rotten drip tray. This is not a problem for me the unit works just fine, but I am concerned that the whole assembly, which is mounted high on an outside wall, will collapse and cause damage to the outside roof area.
Does this drip tray or any part of the casing provide structural support. The support brackets are all in good shape.
Is there an inbuilt chassis unit that supports the compressor, fan etc.
Any advice for peace of mind would be welcome.

Welcome to the forums from Europe.
Typically an outside condenser has a metal base that supports everything. Normally it's not called a drip tray unless it's mounted like you have it...... elevated off the ground.
Yes.... if it's rusted thru I would be concerned about the integrity of the unit.

Thank's for your advice - you were right I have been up there and the base was completely rusted through, so have put a metal reinforcing plate under the unit - seems to be O.K for now- Here's hoping.
