AC condenser fan
Hey all,
Need some guidance on my AC unit. A few weeks back my capacitor outside was bad. I know this because the start fan with stick trick worked and after I swapped the cap it was working again.
Well yesterday I had another issue. Same initial symptoms, outside fan not spinning just humming. Tried the stick trick didn’t work. And actually the fan is very hard to spin. It moves when I push it, but it takes a lot of force to do so. Wouldn’t even call it spinning, just moving.
My assumption is the motor needs to be replaced. I’m thinking the cap issue did some damage to the motor, which wasn’t enough for it to break. However after running more it eventually gave out.
Thoughts?

How old is the outside unit ?
See if there is any excessive side to side movement in the fan shaft.
