New To Us / Central Air Conditioning

We have a Lennox Heating & Air Conditioning system, the later was just added back in May of this year.. We have a Touch Screen Control in the Upstairs hallway.. With the coming of Fall like weather the household has been turning the Air Conditioning down if you will.. Problem is this seems tobe throwing things out of Sinc.. My Question , What would be a good economical setting for the Cool To tab & Heat To tab ??. We're located in Eastern Ontario, Cheers Thanks

For me, comfort is the most important. I can save money (if necessary) other ways than having to be uncomfortably hot or cold.

Without knowing the details of your thermostat...... many thermostats can be set for auto mode which means it will select hot or cold based on settings and room temperature. If you experience wide temperature swings.... the auto mode is probably not desired.

For the most part.... I don't usually recommend to my residential customers to use the auto mode.
Pick a mode and leave it there.

A lot also depends on your home. If it is an older home that is not sealed or insulated well it could save to set the thermostat back when nobody is home. But, a more modern well insulated home can do better just leaving it set to one temperature.

Down in NC where I live we leave our central heat/AC set to 76 (24.5) in summer and 66 (19) in winter. We only change that setting when we will be gone for more than a few days. These temperatures were negotiated since no one temp is perfect for the wife and I. She works in an office all day and I'm out in the weather. I prefer warmer in summer because I'm acclimated to the heat but she's accustomed to office AC set to 72 (22).

@PJMax.. Problem is the Touch Screen Control was PreSet when the A/C was added back in May... Now that we are getting into Fall Like weather at Night, the Mrs. had turned things down if you will causing the A/C to act out of Sinc.. Thre is Tabs for Cool To and Heat To settings.. I'm looking for an economical setting for both tabs if you will, is all.. Cheers Thanks
