Cleaning mold off coil and electronics in furnace
Moved into a new place and noticed a bunch of mold when replacing the filter.
Could use bleach but wouldn't want anything that hurts the unit or gets into the ducts and then breathed in.
Looking for recommendations on what cleaner to use and going about cleaning the mold?

Mold in/on the ductwork and coil is one thing but what do you mean "electronics"?
You can use bleach to clean the mold but everything needs to be completely dry before restarting the system. If the coil is moldy it should be cleaned with coil cleaner.

When I first take off the cover all I see is the filter that butts against the coil. There's another cover with in there that if I take off I see a bunch of wiring and black mold is caked-on to the electrical wiring. I guess I could use bleach to scrub that off make sure everything is dry and then restart the system?
