x-13 motor mounting orientation

Hello! I am replacing an X13 motor on my mobile home outside unit . Everything is outside including the X13 blower motor. The instructions say to mount the motor so that the connector is at the bottom to prevent moisture getting inside the module. This confuses me because mounting it that way leaves the motor cooling vent at the top and would make it much easier for water to get to the module. Am I missing something? Thanks in advance.

my 15 year old x13 motor in a rheem package unit has the connections facing pretty much straight up. Hope that helps.

The new X13 module is potted in rubber. Install it connector down.
