Glass to ceramic glue
I'm looking for the best way to glue a glass dish to a finished porcelain base. Neither has been broken and it will be a birdbath sitting outside.
Can someone direct me on the glue and how to do it. Will the glass or porcelain need to be scuffed with sand paper to help with adhesion or how do you keep the glue from peeling off the slick surface?
Thanks for the help

A 2 part epoxy would probably work well. PC11 would be my choice if it has the potential to get wet.

Thank you both for your responses. This would have a good chance of getting wet. As far as the ultraviolet curing, I don't have light gun to do that. It would be like they use in a dental office, wouldn't it?

There are new glues.... a superglue type to be exact.... shown on TV that come with an ultraviolet curing light. There may be others.
In your application I'd stay with a two part epoxy. A superglue would need the two pieces to meet precisely which will probably not be the case here.

I would use a glass thinset mortar. 7 to 10 pound boxes can be found in the tile section of box stores or at tile retailers in your area. It is stickier than traditional thinsets and will adhere to the slick surface. It should also be rated for a wet location.
