Underlayment for Bamboo Click/Lock flooring?
Hello All,
I am installing some Bamboo click-lock flooring (floating) over a slab in a 20 year old home and need some input please. The Bamboo flooring can be seen HERE.
What kind of underlayment would you recommend? I have been looking at Silent Stride by MPGlobal, Bellawood Premium Underlayment and Pergo Gold.
* I desire something that is 3mm to help with minor imperfections.
* I would like something that has a built in moisture barrier. However, I would consider installing a separate moisture barrier if that is better because of all of those, I only see one specifically listed as having a 3mil moisture barrier. Is that sufficient for an older home on a slab or should I go higher just to be safe?
* We want something that will make the floor quite and offer more stability. We most definitely do not want a spongy floor but desire something solid.
Just FYI, we want a more stable and solid feel from our flooring and not a spongy feeling. All of your recommendations are welcome as I've never installed "engineered" flooring.
Thanks,
Ralph
