basement insulation

Hey guys, so I put foam board up against the concrete walls, then framed behind that. Should I insulate cavities with fiberglass or leave empty?

The MA code requires minimum of R10 rigid or R13 fiberglass; your local code may vary, so I'd check with local building permit officials. Those are minimums. XPS foam is R5 per inch so if you put up 2" you meet the minimum.

If it were me, I'd put mineral wool, like Roxul, in the stud wall. It's easy to do now, doesn't add that much cost, and will improve comfort and energy efficiency.

I appreciate the reply, I did the math and I am looking at $500 cost for additional insulation.
