basement remodel

Hi All, this may seem odd but I want to finish a room in the basement but I really don't want to carry the sheets of drywall down many stairs, aside from hiring someone to do this I am looking for suggestions, thing of possibly cutting the sheets in half and putting trim over the seams.

Not sure what you have for stairs, straight or twists and turns, but, if you order from a lumber yard they may be willing to deliver the drywall to the basement.

Having innovated for many one-man jobs, depending upon those stairs you might be able to make a slide for the edge of the drywall. There are also handled that help or you can come up with a rope arrangement that results in a handle right where you need it to manage the sheets.

IMO putting trim over the seams looks tacky. If possible I'd try to figure out how to get full sheets down there but if that won't happen - I'd plan on extra finish work for a seamless looking wall/ceiling

There's no two ways about it, the smaller the sheets of drywall, the more work finishing it.

It's completely a basement, no window or anything the drywall could go through instead of navigating the stairs?
