Question Pull-down attic stairs repair

I have been noticing my attic stairs are sagging a little, letting hot air into the house. Its exacerbated by the fact that the stairs are fairly close to the AC return. I tried tightening the springs but it is already as tight as the screws will go.

To make matters worse I cannot find a make or model for the stairs to try to find replacement parts. From some searching around it sounds like I may just have to replace the stairs.

This is the only marking I can find on the ladder.

This is what the hinge and springs look like incase anyone can spot the brand/model or recommend replacement parts for it.

If you don't use the stairs often I would just install a few screws to hold it tightly shut.

Lately is has been used often due to AC and water heater issues but hopefully that has calmed down for a bit. Thanks for the a quick economical fix!

I don't know if it would help, but check the measurements on the springs shown here... maybe you can order replacement springs if they happen to be the same length.

Owens Corning makes an insulating tent that you "pop" up and cover the opening before retracting the stairs. It will cut down on air bleed and they are not that pricey.

Incase anyone is curious I had some new insulation put in and they gave me one of those tents for free. Was the easier fix.
