I have some water damage in my attic, on the gable end of the house. It has been fixed, proper flashing done on the roof. This area has also been attack with mice and bats over the years, so it is quite the mess. After cleaning it all up, what would be the best approach to fix this? I'm thinking 1/4" hardware cloth between the studs, secured on the sides of the studs and the back side of the chimney. Follow that up with spray foam on top of that? Not sure what direction to go with this. Hi Everyone, I am in the process of renovating my basement and have come across a load bearing wall, but oddly enough it is built up on concrete blocks (see picture attached). This is something I have never seen so just wondering if anyone has any experience with this type of thing? Mostly I was wondering if there would be a footing laid underneath this or does this act as the footing? I am looking at removing the wall but would like some information on this before I bring in an engineer. Thank you
