Cinder block walled sauna

I am looking to turn a room in my basement into a sauna. It is walled with cinder blocks and has a concrete floor and ceiling. I would like to put cedar t+g on the walls except where the heater is. Any suggestions on the best way to attach cedar. Thanks

My first thought was to just install stringers across the walls/ceiling and attach to that!

Would 2x2's work or do you think 2x4's to have room for some insulation. Or would that be over kill.

Simply attaching wood can work if you are building this as a dry sauna only. If you will have steam you'll need to do a very good job vapor sealing the room and have a way to deal with the condensation.
