Exterior metalbestos chimney: ice build-up
recently had new Buderus logano g115 oil furnace installed, for forced hot water system. Furnace works fine but ice builds up at base of exterior chimney, periodically melting and soaking through the wall where the exhaust pipe exits the house. Installer removed two baffles in succession to essentially raise the temp in the chimney, reducing efficiency as well, but was unable to stop ice accumulation. Is this an unusual problem? Is there an obvious solution? Thanks.

Don't understand the problem, as you have not explained the situation fully.
If you can include photos, please do so. Also, explain how an exterior leak is able to leak into the house when that should all be flashed.

Welcome to the forums.
I moved your thread to the boiler forum. A furnace is a unit that heats air.
I'm not quite understanding the problem either. Like X mentioned..... a picture or two would help.
