Hydronic baseboard heaters.
Hello. I have a question. I am working in a rental unit. It has 2 floors and baseboard radiators in each room. I noticed in each radiator the installer has both the pipe with the fins and also the return pipe. Is this common? I've never seen it before looped that way. I noticed the riser/supply is in the middle of the run and so is the return.

That method is used where the pipes can only come up in one location.
It actually adds more heat dissipation to the room which is a good thing.

Thanks for that info. I was concerned because I only can see the 3/4" return in all the rads through the damper and not the actual fins. It's not until I remove the face that I see both tubes/pipes. Also could a child burn himself on the return being as though it's within reach of the opening?

The return is cooler than the supply.
I would think that a crawling baby could get burned with or without the return line.
A child may touch it once and learn not to touch it again.
