Kagi waste oil burner

The air pressure fluctuates and then drops and the burner cuts off. What is causing the air pressure to do this? Could it be the air pressure switch?

Waste oil burners can be very tricky and difficult to troubleshoot.
Is the air supply to the burner stable?

Yes. It has worked fine up to yesterday - through all our extreme cold weather. We have tried both an onboard air compressor and a shop air compressor and it acts the same with both. We changed the air regulator but it didn't help. The air pressure still drops and then comes back up and then drops again and the burner cuts off and doesn't restart automatically.

What’s the pressure output between the regulator and burner?

It goes up as high as 18 but slowly drops to 9 or 10, then slowly comes back up to 18, drops down again to 9 or 10 and cuts off.

Welcome to the forums.

I'm not much help on waste oil burners but here is a past thread I had read. A lot of good information. If not directly helpful..... could be in the future..... kagi-waste-oil-burner-questions

Apparently Kagi offers good technical advice so don't hesitate to contact them too.
