Add water to poured concrete in hot weather?
We just had part of the driveway redone with concrete. We extended the driveway to park another car there. The contractor put it in yesterday. He said to leave it alone for 2-3 days and it should dry fully. And don't park the car until 3-5 days.
The weather this week has been mid 90s. It's going to get close to 100 by Friday.
Should I just leave the concrete alone and let the hot weather take care of the drying/curing process? Or as someone at work told me I should sprinkle some water on the concrete before I go to work since it's going to be hot.
The new concrete is 4 inches down.
What's the correct answer?

Concrete doesn't harden by drying. It hardens by curing, a chemical reaction that requires moisture to complete. It's always a good idea to keep newly poured concrete damp for at least several days after pouring, regardless of the temperature (unless it's going to freeze, in which case you're in trouble anyway). This helps it develop its full strength.
