Basement Floor Cracks
I want to paint my basement floor to avoid dust. I have cleaned the concrete floor with water and TSP. Now what are the next steps?
1. Do I need to etch the floor?
2. What's the best product to fill in basement floor cracks? Cracks are 2-3mm.
3. Whats the best paint to use?
I live in Toronto and have Home Depot and Lowes nearby.

Concrete only needs to be etched if it has a slick finish, etching opens up the 'pores' so the paint will adhere better. TSP needs to be rinse well! it's residue can present adhesion issues. I prefer a concrete stain instead of paint, less prep and less likely to peel. You'll find the better coatings at your local paint store [not paint dept] they'll have better advice too.
