prep for concrete project.

I'm looking to have a concrete driveway poured an wanted to get some idea about how much I'll need an the prep for it.I will hire for the pour/finish.
It currently has a few inches of gravel and is level. It will be 65ft by 10 an I'm guessing 5inch (minimum). There is also a sidewalk that's 30 ft by 3.

How much will I need to order an how many inches of gravel will I need
,?
it's on a pretty flat area an gravel is compacted .It's in TN.
I also have 14 gauge welded mesh an the supports used for rebar...will this work ok, ? I can double it if needed also.
Building forms also an wanted to know if just outer edges are needed or middle joints also.

Any additional info is appreciated .

you don't need any steel or wire mesh in a 4" thick conc d/w,,, that being said, when we do build 1, we use #4 bar in the 1st 20' coming in from the street to handle the stress of a vehicle's weight coming back down off the springs/shocks,,, a proper joint pattern will be your best friend to escape any random cracking,,, good rule of thumb is 4" x 19 = 76 express'd in ft OR 7'6",,, example, a 15' wide driveway requires joint ( contraction ( grooved or diamond sawed ) or construction ) down the center of the d/w,,, we like a 5" compacted base - parked vehicles weigh more than rolling

sidewalk jnts every 4'

Thanks for the great suggestions.I got all that wire mesh an even some chain link fencing free so I'll use it.
So I'll need to order how much if it's 65 'wide at 5inches deep10ft wide?

IVe also heard using used oil along the edges of form before pour is good .I already have plenty of sheets thick 14 f t concrete hardiboar cut to 8 inches I wanted to use as forms if possible .

Any information is appreciated

grade school math - 65' x (5/12) x 10' = 271cf / 27cf (1cy) = 10.03cy so order 10 1/2cy,,,when using mesh, it MUST be at the vertical midpoint +/- 5% - in your case, 1/4",,, most pro's know it's impossible,,, as you're insisting on mesh, that suggests this won't be a great experience nor will the end product perform well
why use 8" high forms if you're only placing a 5" thick driveway ? ? ?

I didn't want to cut the12 ft hardiboard type strips too small in height so I left a few extra inches .I can always recut it depending on if I need more gravel
Is 2-3 inche of gravel ok or do I need more?

I also heard some suggest 8 inches of the gravel ?Is this not a bit more than needed for a 5 inch deep driveway?

I'm going to go with the wood for edges .will the pt deck boards I already have from leftover project work?
