Removing mortar from brick surface

An unskilled do it yourselfer fixed some loose bricks under a porch slab and got mortar all over the brick surface that is very visable. How can I remove this mortar without damagine the brick surface ?

What are you doing to upload the pic? You might want to use something like IMGUR. If you need instructions as to how, let us know and we can walk you through it.

Pictures need to be scaled down to web quality. Upload to a laptop and use a free image resizer to scale it down so you can upload. If you camera takes 12 MP pictures, you will never be able to directly upload them.

Mortar achieves around 90% of its hardness and bonding power within the first three days of application. After 30 days, mortar’s hardness reaches closer to 99%. But don't worry still you can clean it with Muriatic acid. Muriatic acid is a form of hydrochloric acid that dissolves mortar. Be sure to follow the instructions on the container closely. Typically, those instructions say to begin by mixing a 9:1 (10%) solution of water to acid. The acid should always be added to the water and not vice versa.
