Securing sprinkler wires to concrete step.
I'm trying to secure a cable containing sprinkler wires beneath a concrete porch step. I've tried several anchors and every time I attempt to insert an anchor and/or screw the area surrounding the anchor/screw crumbles away.
Does anyone have any suggestions regarding how to secure a sprinkler cable to concrete?

Looks like the cement is crumbling under the step.
You could glue the cable under the step with clear silicone. You could use a small blob every 6" or so. Use duct tape to hold the cable in place until the silicone dries and then remove it.

@pjmax I'll give that a try and if it doesn't work I'll probably end up running the wires through the attic and down the side of the house to the sprinkler valves.
@marq1 I tried using tapcons and the cement crumbled. I also tried using a similar type of fastener that utilizes a plastic anchor but had the same result.
