Cinderblock steps or gravel walkway
Hey. Looking for some help here.
I have a large large slope in my yard, it's all level until you get about 4 feet off my deck then it begins a hard slope into the rest of the yard which is only slightly sloped towards the river. I have my fire pit down in the yard where it's fairly level. Now I was planning on cutting into the hillside and putting in steps with cinderblocks. But we live in the east coast of Canada which means cold and frost, this could possibly turn those steps ino shifted crap by next spring. I then thought of just shovelling a trench walkway, filling in the lower part with soil from the top and lining the sides with cinderblocks that I fill with concrete and rebar into the ground. What would you guys do in this situation? I will provide my measurements that I took for the possible steps. 49.5" from the bottom of the hill to where my line levelled with the top of the hill. The line measured 22'6".
Thanks in advance!!

Welcome to the forums.
It can be hard to visual a project by description alone.
If you could post a few pictures it would be very helpful.

When you are in the attach mode..... just hit browse again for a second picture and then upload. The pictures attached will show at the bottom of the attached dialog box.
I'm not sure what will happen if you try to upload several very large pictures at the same time.
