Unknown stone table that probably needs attention

Does anyone know what type of stone table I inherited with my home? Is the table granite and the floor slate or something? I'm pretty sure I need to treat this picnic table since I want it to last and enjoy it this summer. Any recommendations would be appreciated! Thanks!

Looks really good . Maybe that was what Stonehenge was suppose to look like.

It's stone and stone by virtue of it's composition should not need any care. However, I would give it a light power wash just to clean up the surface dirt.

You could give it a coat of Thompson's water seal Wet Look.

Thumbs up Quite a nice table you have there !

That appears to be limestone.
It's a fairly soft material and you should take care in refinishing or protecting the surface.
Limestone is s softer form of marble but can't be treated the same way.
Most forms of limestone can't be polished like marble and what you use for limestone can't necessarily be used on what you have.
The picture is not good enough to identify it so you should make sure of what you have before doing anything.

Here is a good site that explains it better.
A better picture of the surface might help identify it.

I would add that most any coating you apply will need periodic recoating as the elements will be hard any coating that sees that much weather.

Limestone is more of a gray color. I vote for sandstone or Crab Orchard stone. Your location may give us a clue if we knew what it is.
