Red brick retaining wall
I know, the title already seems all wrong. My back yard has a slight slope that I did not notice before leveling an area for a fire pit and seating. The elevation change from the leveled area to the untouched area is about 8 inches. I poured a concrete footing about 10 inches deep with rebar and laid three courses of reclaimed red brick. Will the forces of nature over time crack and push over my small wall? The wall is not straight, it is a large 'S' shape. I haven't back filled it yet and can add something for re-enforcement if necessary.

Where are you located? Is a 10" deep footer deep enough to get below your frost line?
Is there any "keying" or mechanical connection between your bricks and the footer?
For the most part I think your wall will be OK since it is so low. Some drainage holes or passages at the base of the wall would help prevent it from acting like a dam and collecting water behind it.

No frost in this part of California. No keying either just mortar. Drainage holes are a great idea. I'll drill out the mortar before it sets fully. Thanks!
