Hi,
I am considering removing the top row of brick and putting 2 inch bluestone to top the front landing of my house. It seems to me the landing is a bit small as it sort of splits the center of the pilaster on either side of the entry, leaving about 5 inches overhang of the base of the pilaster. Please see the attached pics.
One option I suppose is to just have the bluestop extend about 5 inches to the left and right of the brick landing (keeping the front overhand around an inch) - though I'm not so sure this will look very good. On the other hand, it seems like a bit of a waste to replace the whole landing to make it a few inches wider on each side. I don't think it's possible to add a row of brick on the left and right.
Any thoughts or recommendations you might have would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Brian
