Cleaning surface of retaining wall

I poured the retaining wall a few years ago but before installing the new screen door I want to set bricks along the top of the wall, should I clean the surface with a mild cleaning solution that would not affect the brick adhering to the top of the retaining wall.

Comments suggestions appreciated!!

It doesn't look bad although it's never a bad idea to have it as clean as you can prior to laying the brick. Just make sure the cleaner is rinsed well.

I thank you, considering using a very mild, perhaps 5% solution of muriatic acid, or TSP?

You don't need muriatic acid since you are trying to remove things like dirt and mildew. A pressure washer would be my choice.

Sounds a lot less labor-intensive than scrubbing, there are another 30 feet of retainer wall on the other side of the entrance, my pressure washer should have it prepped in proby less than a half-hour.

I thank you!
