Exclamation Bonding second pour to recent concrete pour

There was an emergency while pouring a 5" slab yesterday so we couldn't finish the job. We have one area finished but had to cut a clean edge and then taper down to a section that is only 2" thick.

I'd like to go back tomorrow and finish by pouring new concrete over the shallow (2") area and an empty area, meeting up to the finished 5" area where I cut the edge. My concern is bonding new concrete to the shallow concrete just poured. Is there any type of bonding agent we can use or some method to get a good bond?

Thanks guys.

Not really, you now have a cold joint regardless of what is applied to "bond" , going to have to just install a control joint!

You should really get a saw and cut the concrete where your 5" ends. That way you are pouring 5" against 5". After you cut and remove the thinner concrete you would pin the edge with rebar to tie the two together vertically.
