Do you wet ceramics before applying?

Does it help to wet the underside of ceramic floor tiles before setting them on the thinset?

Should I do the same with the thinset? (wet the concrete floor before applying the thinset)

Thanks

You only need that when it's really hot out to keep the moisture from being sucked out of the mortar and then I've only done it with brick work outside!
