I've been applying coats of asphalt sealer to my driveway which badly needed it. Sealed large cracks beforehand.
My question is: how many coats can or should I do? Im kinda getting obsessed to filling in every imperfection but don't know if that's realistic or the right thing to do.
Attaching pictures to see what it currently lo0ks like.
Sealers wears off with time/use, from the pictures that looks to be in pretty good shape. It will never be perfectly smooth, I used to apply about every 1 1/2 years.
Better quality sealers are worth the extra cost, they contain more fillers, next time pick up the cans, you can feel how much heavier the better material weighs.
One coat should be sufficient. Those in the business of applying asphalt sealant claim it should be done every yr but IMO 2-3 yrs makes more sense. While the black will fade during the first yr, normally the sealer is still good enough to continue to protect the asphalt.
New to the forum, but after a frustrating afternoon I need some help. There is some degradation on the side wall of a front porch, and was hoping to repair it today with 2 bags of Quikcrete Q Max Pro cement. I even called them to see if this was appropriate as I already had the bags. He assured me it was, and told me to wait 48 hrs if I needed to do multiple layers. I properly scraped and cleaned, and used a bonding agent. I knew it was going to be a s**tstorm when I saw all the aggregate and stone in the mix. I could get nowhere near a peanut butter type consistency and nothing would stick. I was going to mesh it after the first layer as well. I just gave up when I couldn’t get it to any proper form. Any thoughts on the proper material to use here? The max depth is probably about 2-3 inches at the worst point. Thanks!

Our driveway has a huge pothole.
It is in a corner so not impacting directly, but I would like to fix it due to two reasons --
1) to make sure it does not expand
2) it's a safety hazard ... if someone step on it, it will cause a fractured ankle
It is about 1 square feet but very deep. Already used 2 gallon of cold patch , but far from leveling.
Wondering if I can use something like stone chips and then put the final layer of cold asphalt?
I have got good result with cold asphalt earlier when I stamp really well.
