Question Brick STAINING

Hi all!

I have read up on and seen some YT videos regarding (exterior) brick staining, but I am still a bit confused. One video says I need water mineral based stain, but is there such a thing? I would like to go with a gray color (something like Sherman Williams' Gray Harbor) but would like to source it from Lowes, but again, I have NO IDEA about what stain to buy for 960 sq. ft. of tan (Chateau White) brick. Mineral water based? What kind of stain can be sourced locally that will work for exterior brick?

Any ideas or suggestions please? Thank you so much in advance!

Yes...a masonry stain would need to be water based in order to soak into the brick.
Lowes carries two name brand name stains.... Cabot and Valspar.

Not sure how well the exact color will come out., Staining can be unpredictable.
