Semi-permanent adhesive for wall panels

I am trying to do a quick and easy refresh job on my bathroom. I just removed the old wallpaper and instead of painting I thought I might put up beadboard wall panels.

Here's the issue, right now the vanity has a tiled counter top with a backsplash adhered directly to the wall. I don't want to get into the putting in a new vanity/countertop this year, but may do it in the future sometime. My walls are real plaster, not drywall. I would like to put up the bead board, trimmed around the backsplash, but be able to get it off the wall if I want to redo the counter tops later on. That was the nice thing about the wallpaper, easily removable.

I am afraid if I use a PL glue, I will have to demo the plaster to get it off.

Any thoughts what I could use?

Thanks!!

A heavy duty 2 sided tape may work, although you would need a lot of it.

LOL, The reason I don't want to redo the the countertop is because I am cheap! I don't "throw" money anywhere!

The only problem with the tape is that it is an outside wall, which gets quite cold (1950's house with balsam insulation). I wonder how well the tape would hold up?

I know that it's a long shot but you could test a small section before you do the job. Scotch 3M makes a good two sided tape. Look at that first.

I would use long panel nails and on the back of the board your installing I would put quarter size dots of regular latex caulking here and there. Caulk when dried does make a good adhesive but will stay somewhat flexible and you shouldn't have any problem getting this off later. Then the small amount of caulk on the wall can be cleaned off with a razor blade.
