Hello, I am installing a 12 foot (1" x 12" x 12') shelf with 4 metal brackets into a brick wall. I'm wondering what type of screws to use for this for installation? I do know to not drill into the brick itself, but in between the bricks as it is more sturdy. Any other tips or advice for this project? Much appreciated in advance.

Renovating a cottage with 6 inch t&G pine on walls and ceiling. The pine have a V profile in the middle, and the usual profile for T&G. I am building a bathroom vanity with laminate counter / backsplash and planned to do the wall behind the vanity with T&G, but when the flat backsplash butts up against the T&G profile, there are openings.. not sure if I explained right, but usually I but a vanity against drywall so have a flat surface, whereas this surface has groves in it.. what should I do... Should I just leave it and caulk top, or place a pine board horizontal above level of backsplash for it to butt up against, and start the pine T&G above that board... thx
