How to make dresser same color as headboard

I have a headboard with footboard 1 color. My dresser is another color. Is there a way to figure out the color of headboard-footboard and make the dresser the same color. Iím not sure if either are laminated or not. I donít have any experience with woodworking much but I would like to change the color of my dresser to my headboard-footboard.
Also, I found some plans online for how to build a nightstand and would like to make it the same color of headboard-footboard. Is this possible? If not what color should I paint the dress to match headboard-footboard.

Welcome to the forums.

Pretty hard for us to match colors for you.
Are you asking about painting ?

Can you post a picture or two of your furniture so we can see what you are working with ?

Welcome.
Pictures are important as Pete posted.

Some wood can be easily stripped or sanded, such as painted maple.
'Open pore' wood like oak or mahogany will be harder to strip. The pores absorb the stain and the color goes deep.

You can still strip and restain open pore wood, but don't expect to get all the old color out of the wood.

A little hard to tell from the pic - is the headboard black?

I'm thinking you'd need to sand the dresser with 150 or 180 grit and then apply an oil base black enamel .... maybe mixed with polyurethane so the result won't be pure black paint.
