Pliers with soft touch jaws
Do they make pliers that have either rubber or plastic grippers? I am installing some "baby-proof" door stops that are made of plastic and my regular pliers are tearing them up regardless of if I tape them or wrap in a cloth.
Would be nice to find something that has a "softer" touch.
Recommendations of a particular model would also be appreciated.

Here are some I can recommend: Soft-Jaw Pliers - Lee Valley Tools
A search for soft jaw pliers will find you others.

As an alternative for cabinet doors, here's a link to the best child locks I have used. They will not allow the door to open even a little bit until lock is released with the magnetic key.
My wife had a home daycare for many years and the inspector was very happy with these.
They are a little harder to install but worth the effort. The kids cannot pinch their fingers.
