We have kitchen drawers that slide all the way out if you are not careful. Either there are no stops on these old cabinets, or the stops are broken. The cabinet bases are solid wood (not chip board) and I cannot afford to replace them. Is there a way to install drawer glides/stops now? There is such a small space inside, I am not sure how you would drill holes, etc for an installation Any video or directions with photos would be appreciated.

Ok I know this is going to sound ridiculous to ask but here goes. I am removing years of paint from our stairs and trying to finish the job before Thanksgiving. The Gap in the pictures has increased, I believe that the nails have failed and bent plus the house has settled more since 1903. The face piece of wood attaches to another piece of wood I would say is a 1" X 2" and very old. I'm looking for the best method to use to close the gap and secure it in place. I have researched different screws for the job but am unsure which size #6 or # 8 and the best made screw for the job. I don't want this to become a complete tear out, too much involved. Please view the photos for an idea of what we are dealing with. Which brand of screw / model would you recommend. Looking for one with strength. I wanted to also come up from the bottom of the face piece but there just isn't enough wood to grab onto from the bottom. Screws would be counter sunk and filled in with wood putty also.
