Stair skirt board integration with door trim
So in the attached photo, is the mockup shown how I should handle the skirt board, stair tread, and door casing coming together at one point? Where the stair tread is cut at label "A" to follow the casing? Or should I bring the skirt down to the door jamb, and have the door casing stop on top of the skirt board? Help!
The stair tread protrudes far enough along the casing that I can't cut the casing to follow the stair bull nose without creating a weak spot on the casing.
Casing, tread, and skirt have not been installed or cut, so any can be modified in any way.

The casing would normally be notched around the stair tread. Yes, it will be delicate but that's how it's done.
