Floating shelf help
so my fiancé and I decided that we wanted to wall mount our tv and with that we decided that we needed something to fill the void on he wall beneath it. We found some plans for a floating shelf and we set off on what was our first DIY adventure. The shelf is about 12 inches wide and about 4 feet long. I’ve attached an image of the final product and overall we’re fairly happy. We had some issues with the frame not being level and I chalk that up to our inexperience and lack of proper tools. The question I am wondering if you guys can answer is why the shelf appears to be twisted on one end. Any ideas? Thanks
ps. Ignore all the wires hanging around, we plan to hide those asap

You didn't say anything about how the shelf is constructed so it's hard to say for certain how it got twisted. If it is one large timber the original wood was probably warped but if you built it up of thin planks the you might built the twist into it.
