Dishwasher install, finishing edges etc
Hi-
I wasn't sure if this was the best place to post this so please let me know if its should be moved.
I am trying to figure out how the best finish the edges around our dishwasher in the home we just moved into. Two things.
1) When we open the door we can see unfinished wood on both sides. I think there was a rubber seal or something in our previous home and it looked clean and nice. I have attached pictures. Is there a standard way this should be finished inside so it don't look unfinished as it does now?
2)Also, they ran the quarter round in front of the dishwasher and I had to pull it off to get the dishwasher out so I can level it out by adjusting the feet. Again, I don't remember this in our old house. How is this usually handled? I would assume it would be cut at each end of the dishwasher and finished off nicely.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
TY

More of a finishing question than a dishwasher issue so I moved your thread to cabinets and finishing for help.
