Looking for Advice when cutting inside & outside corners for crown molding

HI folks,

I'm no carpenter, just a do it your self-er on most areas of the house. I just got done with a small project putting up basic crown molding in a 12 X 11 room. The project went ok, and I was able to make it look decent. But if I do this again, I'd like to figure out how I can do the inside and outside corners better.

I have a nail gun & air compressor that worked out fine. My issues are measuring and cutting these corners. Most likely, I need some more tools, but I’m no pro, and don't want to break the bank. I don't have a mitre saw, but I have a cheap plastic mitre box with slots, to cut the angles.

So, I’m looking for some creative ideas, tools suggestions or even idiot proof gadgets that may or may not be available for a guy like me.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
