Restoring leather furniture
#1

I've inherited a couch and love seat that need some help. Is there a way to dye leather furniture to bring it back to 'newness"? The pieces are in great condition except for the cushions. They look faded more than worn because of the uniformity of the color. Where do I start to look for help? Is this something I might be able to do myself since I'm willing to work on it? Is my best bet to contact a leather cleaner specialist to start with? These are good quality leather.
I have seen on Pinterest where someone used EVOO on their leather and it did exactly what I'm hoping for.
See attached photo. Could this possibly work? Or would trying the EVOO thing make things worse?
The colors on the photos are deceiving. The left photo is closest to reality. The blue is a deeper blue and absolutely beautiful. I'd love for both of the pieces to be as they could be.
You guys are my "go-to's". Opinions?

Tanning and applying the color layer to leather is a pretty involved process and especially so to get the color of different hides to match. It is not a DIY project and certainly not one you do with something that is already fabricated like a couch. If you want I would simply try oiling the leather which will bring back some of it's suppleness and will darken it somewhat. Start with a light oiling of the cushions and you might get lucky and get them to darken closer in tone with the rest of the sofa. You do have to be careful when oiling to do a light application and lost of rubbing it in to get an even color.

Many moons ago I used to manage a dry cleaning business that also cleaned and refinished leather items.
Pretty simple process, mix up the dye to color match and spray it on.
