aluminum garage door cleaner

Which cleaning products are safe to use on aluminum garage doors ?

There aren't a lot of aluminum doors out there, are you sure your door isn't metal? If so you can wash it like you would wash your car.

Ya, the odds are your door is painted steel. What cleaner to use is somewhat dependent on what needs to be cleaned off of the door. You can use pretty much any household cleaner.

Every few years I wash my house, and garage doors, Simple Green is great, cuts through the grime, doesn't hurt plants and smells nice!!

Directions seem to say - "2 tablespoons of Simple Green per gallon of water". Is this ration what you recommend ? Thanx.

Most of the time it's sprayed directly onto the siding from some high efficient bottle sprayers then using a brush, or it's a 5 gallon pale with several "glugs" of cleaner, not much measurement going on!

Hi Mark: you are correct - door is steel not aluminum. Apparently Simple Green is OK to use carefully. Do you agree ? Thanx.
