I cracked my screen

I cracked my screen
Due to a hinge that has never worked great since I got this laptop 4 years ago.
I cracked my laptop screen (due to a broken hinge) what do you suggest it’s a 4-year-old hp. I am attempting to get a separate screen to access my stuff, but with the price of a new screen and labor its the price of a new laptop or close.
Could I attempt to replace it myself then if I do I also need a new hinge assy or a whole new top, the unit runs great.
is there a good place to get boneyard parts?
thanks

Yes, you can replace it yourself. I did that with mine about a year ago. Look on line and search for a replacement. All parts should be available. Also do a YouTube search on how to replace the screen for your model laptop. There should be several.
Tips: Take lots of pics as you take the old one apart. Label each part. Do not rely on your memory foe each and every screw.

New parts might be expensive relative to the value of the computer. You can also try Ebay, Craigslist and any place that sells used computers. You might find one like yours. You can either use the new/used computer or use it as a donor for parts.
