Simple Video Editing Software?

Can anyone recommend a simple video editing software for either Windows or Mac OS. I am not looking for high powered editing or modifying capabilities and mainly just want to edit the length and maybe remove camera shake. A big feature I want is the ability to control the output resolution or quality. I have a Mac laptop but iMovie has a bizzare output function which gives you very limited control of the output file size.

I use Nero, but it may be more advanced than you need.

I use windows movie maker to get the file to the computer. ( I still have film cameras )

Save it as AVI.

Then from there I use adobe premier elements 14. ( they are on 15 now)

Video & movie making software | Adobe Premiere Elements 15

I used to use the corel products but when windows when to 10 it became buggy.

Adobe has great tutorials.

I make DVD of my home movies..

Depending on your operating system, you might still be able to get Windows Movie Maker for free (and you can actually run it on Windows 10 no problem anyway). My husband uses it to make Youtube videos of him and his friends playing video games, and while I don't understand how to use it he's told me a few times that he uses it specifically because he's bad at that kind of thing and it's super easy to use.

I also recommend looking at Windows Live Movie Maker. Works on 10 and prior versions, free, and easy to use.

Thank you for all the recommendations. It will take a while for me to check them out and see which I want. I'll also need to decide if I'm going to put it on my laptop (Mac) or my desktop (PC).
