"Create a website"?

My son has a project due for school, and one of the presentation options is "create a website". We've never done this before... he's willing to put in the time learning to create/program a website, but how would he host it? Can he save files to a thumb drive for portability?

Any tips or tricks would be welcome. Thanks for giving a clue to the clueless!

He can create a website that just runs locally on his computer. Or there are many "free" web site hosting services. Most of the free sites add advertisements to the pages that one has no control over.

Search "Free web hosting" and "Free website software" to get started.

Here is a place that offers free small starter sites. I don't think the free ones have ads but I'm not sure. Welcome To Paulding Homes

Carbide is correct. Create a site that runs locally. If the school wants it hosted, let them host it.

Should have mentioned we wanted to run locally only, not actually post it to the internet. We'll check out those links, thanks!

Just another suggestion... I've used Wix, and for a free website builder, you can't beat it.

The tools they have are pretty easy to learn and use, and I think could be perfect for a school project.
